Privacy Policy
This page explains what information is collected when you visit Filtered Thoughts (filteredthoughts.nedwebservices.com), how it's used, and the choices you have.
Who we are
Filtered Thoughts is a blog run by Ned (Ned Worldwide) in San Antonio, Texas, with posts from Ned and guest contributors. When this policy says "we," it means the blog.
Information we collect
We don't ask you to create an account, and the blog has no sign-up forms or comments. We don't collect your name, email or other personal details unless you contact us directly.
Like most websites, some information is collected automatically when you visit:
- Visit statistics. We use a simple analytics script (Ned Traffic) to count page views and see which pages and links are popular. It records things like the page you viewed, the site that referred you, your browser and device type, and the time of your visit.
- Server logs. The blog is hosted on GitHub Pages, which may log technical information such as your IP address for security and to keep the service running. See GitHub's privacy statement.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. This blog itself doesn't need cookies to work, but embedded content may set them. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Embedded content and outside services
- YouTube videos. Some posts include embedded YouTube videos. YouTube (Google) may collect data and set cookies when you play them.
- Google Fonts. Our pages load fonts from Google, which receives your IP address to deliver them.
- Affiliate links. Some posts include Amazon affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. If you click one, Amazon may use cookies to track the referral.
- Links to other sites. We link to other websites, including our own projects. Their privacy practices are their own.
How we use information
We use visit statistics to understand what readers find useful and to improve the blog. We don't sell your personal information.
Children's privacy
This blog isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.
Your choices
You can block cookies in your browser, or use a browser or extension that limits tracking. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access or delete information about you; contact us and we'll help.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
